What the cutoff changes in practice
At 50 ng/mL, occasional or single use is unusual to detect beyond 3–4 days, and chronic use is unlikely to stay positive past about 10 days. Drop to 20 ng/mL and occasional use is still not expected past about 7 days, while chronic use is uncommon beyond 21 days. Ranges move with frequency of use, body composition and hydration.
